Position Overview:
Our resort, as an independent luxury brand fueled by a collective of diverse and exceptionally talented team members, is seeking a dynamic, innovative, results-oriented culinary artisan with an undeniable dual passion for developing people and crafting an extraordinary culinary journey to partner in creating world-renowned hospitality experiences.
The ideal candidate will be directly responsible for overseeing and providing strategic leadership on resort to our Pastry team and culinary operation that aid in positioning the resort as the premier luxury destination property in the region. In this role, you will ensure that all aspects of the pastry operation are focused on providing an extensive range of distinctive culinary delicacies that consistently conveys luxury to the senses.

Job responsibilities in this role include:
Overseeing the pastry department operation in collaboration with the Culinary Director.
Driving innovation and business results for the Resort’s six (6) restaurants.
Developing, designing and creating new applications, processes, relationships, systems or products, inclusive of artistic contributions.
Assist in the modification and creation of menus that sustain interest and repeated patronage.
Creating a prominent image for the resort’s restaurants by assisting with marketing and public relations campaigns orchestrated by our marketing team.
Demonstrating an affinity for building relationships with a focus on creating exciting and memorable guest experiences.
Accountability for achieving the department’s financial goals.
Participating in training culinary and restaurant staff on menu items including ingredients, preparation and execution methods, unique tastes and dietary preferences.
Monitoring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Building relationships with a focus on creating exciting and memorable guest experiences.
Consistently train, coach and mentor culinary team members towards the achievement of set goals and objectives.
Providing exceptional service and products which promote guest satisfaction and retention.

Experience and Skills:
A minimum of five (5) years’ management level experience in the culinary division preferably in a luxury hospitality environment.
Tertiary level education preferably in Culinary or Pastry Arts or associated discipline.
Prior luxury, independent hotel experience preferred.
Oral and written proficiency in English.
High level computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Adaptable and able to work well under the pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines.
Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven ability to develop a high-performing team and champion a positive, collaborative, and values-based culture.
