MAINTENANCE & SERVICE PERSONNEL
Responsible for following up on all stock and sold equipment to ensure good maintenance practices are being followed, service times are met and kept, maintain necessary reports on equipment service and warranty issues, complete equipment inspections as necessary, assist parts personnel when required, be familiar with general heavy equipment parts consumables, liaising with service technicians and customers to facilitate repairs, liaising with parts personnel for any spares required. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the field service department including servicing and repairing heavy construction equipment. Additional duties include supervising staff, providing quotes to customers, communicate the plan to the customer and staff, schedule maintenance, assisting all co-workers.
Service personnel will be required to go out to customer/company sites to perform repairs & reports.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience with office equipment (printers, scanners, computers)
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Customer service attitude
Good knowledge of heavy equipment spare parts
Valid driver’s license
Knowledge of construction equipment
DUTIES & JOB DESCRIPTION
Should be able to keep, list, update and know:
List and know basic consumable / frequently used parts for each machine being offered for sale
Use and be familiar with portals for data entry and information.
Current stock and specifications of machine models in designated territories at all times to ensure correct parts are assigned to each repair and maintenance work order.
Specifications of attachments in stock to ensure correct parts are assigned to each repair and maintenance work order.
Knowledge of warranty information, and coverage for each model sold.
Keep a list of all sold equipment supplied by the dealership including: monthly updated hours mileage for each, past service and repair history, next service and repair due date.
Should be able to do:
Schedule routine service and maintenance for machines sold.
Yard check to ensure the facility is equipped with the necessary tools, is always cleaned, and ready to service customer’s equipment.
Dispatch deliveries and pick-ups; Schedule tows and mobilization to and from service yard.
Assign work to technicians; Ensure technicians are at work, on time, and always have repairs scheduled.
Ensure parts are available for repairs; Liaise with parts department to ensure spares are available and billed when service or repair becomes due.
Turn repair requests into service orders; Record all customer comments, queries, requests and schedule repair as soon as possible.
Document repairs and service; Record all repairs, parts, technicians and other information for any service or repair performed.
Audit technician work orders; Verify work orders after completion to ensure accurate work was done.
Work Authorization; Ensure that the customer is properly billed or has paid before authorizing any technician to complete a repair.
Place finished jobs in the pick up or delivery queue; Schedule pick up or delivery for all machines which have finished repairs.
Manage customer to technician communications; Ensure all customer requests are known so customer can be billed appropriately.
Manage work order process: opening jobs, invoicing, quotations, audit, delivery.
Ensure equipment is always cleaned before returning to customer.
Keep weekly report sheet of all maintenance and repairs performed.
File away all work orders, service sheets, inspection reports by machine type.
Ensure the following reports are completed as specified: Receiving inspection report, periodic inspection report (for stock machines), maintenance report (for all machines serviced and repaired), warranty report (for all machines encountering warranty issues)
