Vacancy – Audit – Senior Associate




A reputable Caribbean-based Auditing firm is seeking to hire a full-time Audit - Senior Associate.
The primary responsibility of the Audit Senior will be to assist the manager in supervising all matters relating to the management of a portfolio of clients and to provide assistance to the partnership in both client work and in the management of the audit professionals group. On occasion the Audit Senior may become involved in special assignments on an ad hoc basis as needed by the firm.
List of Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a secondary point of contact within the firm for the client together with managers.
  • Responsible for reporting to the engagement manager on the day to day client contact and conduct of audit work.
  • Planning the audit process, research, reviewing current processes and providing recommendations to enhance company policies and procedures.
  • Develop a strong commercial understanding of the clients’ businesses.
  • Prepare initial draft of reports or other client and external communications as directed.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively use resources and produces results to solve problems or issues with minimal support.
  • Ensure that the firm’s risk management and quality control procedures are always adhered to.
  • Direct fieldworks daily, inform supervisors/managers of the engagement status, and manage staff performance.
  • Supervise, conduct, and report on the testing and adequacy of the clients’ internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Support managers with the implementation and communication of any new business strategy for existing clients, target clients and the internal business.
  • Ensure the business complies with all relevant internal requirements, industry regulations and government legislation
  • Conducting investigations on irregularities and errors.
  • Any other tasks reasonably assigned to the Audit Senior within their skill set.
Professional Qualification Requirements:
Must have completed ACCA, CPA, CA, or other internationally recognized accounting qualification. Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Professional Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years of auditing experience which includes at-least 2+ years leading Audit engagements.
  • Excellent Communications Skills (both written and oral English).
  • Good working knowledge of IFRS and ISA.
  • Excellent project and team management skills.
  • Experience with systems/controls testing as well as substantive auditing, including consolidations, group audits, statutory accounts and disclosures.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and present to clients in a professional manner where applicable.
Candidate MUST be willing to relocate based on the needs of the firm where applicable. Potential working locations include: St. Lucia | St. Vincent | Antigua | St. Kitts | Anguilla
