Unicomer Group – Regional Project Officer – IT Business (Trinidad) Deadline for receiving applications is Sunday 6th May, 2018

We are seeking a qualified, experienced individual to fill the position of The Project Officer - IT Business. The Project Officer - IT Business will be responsible for all IT business projects across the region, ensuring appropriate and timely dialogue with Project sponsors and key stakeholders on major projects to maintain alignment of business priorities throughout the life of the project. The incumbent will work with agility and focus to deliver intangible results in the approved time frames. The role is based in Trinidad.
The successful candidate will have key account-abilities as follows
  • Develop feasible project plans, for each project under purview that achieves the goals and objectives of the project and aligns with the organization’s overall business strategy, including definition of project scope, financial and other resources required as well as time estimates for key milestones and final delivery
  • Establish the appropriate project team, determined by the competencies required and stakeholders identified; allocating resources appropriately, implementing and managing projects to achieve the agreed objective while reflecting the Unicomer Caribbean Mission, vision and core values
  • Implement reporting and monitoring systems to ensure quality control, manage time and risk to deliver on key milestone targets; collaborating with stakeholders to ensure accountabilities are actions in line with plan and budget
  • Advice the project sponsors as appropriate on all matters, technical or otherwise which impact or could impact projects being agreed for execution, responding appropriately to relevant feedback as necessary
  • Manage communications with key internal stakeholders at various levels of the business to deliver company/project objectives and negotiate with external stakeholders within the context of Unicomer policies, standards and Code of Conduct & Ethics to achieve project objectives
  • Preparing requests for proposals and collaborate with sponsor(s) and key stakeholders to validate project deliverables, timelines, change management issues and strategies for successful execution
  • Provide project management schedule/records and provide Gant schedules/reports at agreed intervals and in keeping with best practice, advising of progress against agreed timelines, factors which have or could favorably or unfavorably affect project timelines/budget and provide appropriate recommendations.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies requires
  • Bsc Business Management or other business related degree
  • Three or more years project management experience in I.T. ITIL or ITSM certifications preferred
  • PMP Certifications required
  • Business & IT strategy experience
  • Knowledge of related software tools
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Microsoft Project
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail; being able to coordinate multiple projects and synchronize work with project timelines
  • Good communication and relationship skills, being able to work with internal cross-functional teams and externally with key stakeholders, consultants or suppliers
  • A self-starter, being able to work on own initiative
  • Ability to travel significantly, sometimes at weekends within the Caribbean
