St. James’s Club Morgan Bay St. Lucia - Information Technology Assistant
Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining and installing computer hardware, software and networks; telephone, internal systems and help desk administration
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Ability to oversee troubleshooting, system backups, archiving and disaster recovery and provide expert support when necessary
  • Ability to interact with internal and external clients including suppliers on all levels to help resolve IT related issues and provide answers in a timely manner
  • Assist with the purchasing of all software, hardware and other IT supplies
  • Ability to test new hardware and software before implementation
  • Research and present new product ideas to management
  • Train and develop employees as needed
  • Reporting weekly activities within the department
  • Ensure that all systems are working effectively at all times
  • Executing projects within scope and budgets as set out by the company
  • Ability to be confidential and maintain a secure I.T. environment
Desired Skills
  • Excellent organizational analytical and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of complex information and requirements
  • Good prioritization skills and be flexible enough to adapt plans
  • Knowledge of structured cabling, WAN, LAN, ISP, Fiber and netowrks
  • Good communications skills - written and verbal ability to communicate with both internal and external customers/suppliers
  • Great IT skills combined with knowledge of systems such as Opera PMS and Adagio
  • Confidence in decision-making
  • A good team-playing mentality with an ability to respond to calls twenty four hours a day
  • Good leadership skills
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints
  • At least five years in a similar position
  • Credited I.T. qualifications and certifications
