I.T. Applications Administrator
The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) is seeking a suitable candidate to support the Information Systems Department as the I.T. Applications Administrator.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline (with emphasis on programming and/or Systems Analysis)
- At least five (5) years relevant experience
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Skills:
A working knowledge of and the ability to interpret operating procedures, staff rules. Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage time efficiently. Decisiveness and sound judgment. Demonstrated competence and knowledge of at least one scripting programming language (Perl, Python, Ruby) and use of programing frameworks and software development methodologies.
Experience with Systems Analysis and/or web-based development.
Working knowledge of relational databases, preferably MySQL/MariaDB or PostgreSQL, and Data Manipulation Languages such as Structured Query Language (SQL).
Competence with command-line scripting: PowerShell/Unix shell scripting and Linux command-line. Ability for collaboration working in a busy & fast-paced corporate environment.

The incumbent must be conscientious, confidential, detail-oriented, mature, responsible, respectful, highly motivated and of high integrity.
