THE POSITION
We are recruiting a suitably qualified and experienced Optometrist who is passionate about improving people’s quality of life by providing the highest standards in eye care needs and delivering impeccable service to our patients.
You will have the following key accountabilities:
Conduct tests to determine if a patient is far-sighted or near-sighted and prescribes corrective eyeglasses, contact lenses or other treatment options.

Issue prescriptions for spectacles and contact lenses; prescribe medications to treat eye diseases.
Meet sales targets regarding selling spectacles and contact lenses.
Train staff in the use of selected Optical equipment and provide education on new technologies and industry advancements.
Conduct tests for glaucoma and other eye diseases caused by systematic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure and refers patients to an Ophthalmologist if necessary
Educate and counsel patients on contact lens care, visual hygiene, lighting arrangements, safety factors, correct reading habits and good nutrition and hygiene.
Educate and counsel patients on related products and services.
Conduct in-store, community and business outreaches in accordance to company standards.
THE CANDIDATE
QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BSc in Optometry from a school accredited by the Local Medical Board/Council
Minimum three (3) years’ experience
Experience with contact lenses will be an asset
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proficient in the use of optical diagnostic devices and techniques
Excellent communication and people skills
Must be able to work with precision
Must be well organised.
