In a recent address to the nation, National Youth Council President, Jeshurun Andrew, set out to rally the youth to stand defiant in the face of any negatives encountered within society.
“As we rally in pursuit of excellence, we as young people should be cognizant of the fact that we live in a time when many external factors and our social, economic, and cultural environments contribute negatively to the acquisition of this excellence.”
The president reminded the youth to always celebrate the achievements of their peers and to stand united with society, with the aim to bring about a better tomorrow.
“As we press on, we must always remember to celebrate our achievers as they continue to inspire others to succeed,” he said. “To our Saint Lucia citizens who are post-youth age, you were once youths and our struggles then, are our struggles now. Let us unite as we strive to alleviate youth ills and create an environment which fosters a brighter tomorrow.”
