(Media Release) Saltibus Main Road Reconstruction Project underway

THE PROJECT IS DIVIDED INTO FIVE PHASES, AND EMPLOYS COMMUNITY RESIDENTS.

The Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Energy has commenced work on the Saltibus Main Road Rehabilitation Project. The project includes the construction of drainage and the rehabilitation of the road pavement structure.

Civil Engineer attached to the Southern Office of the Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Energy, Mr. Eddie Parsade, said the project aims to rehabilitate deteriorated sections along the seven kilometer roadway. The project, he said, is progressing on time and within budget.

The road reconstruction project has generated employment for scores of residents from Saltibus and environs, as the Department of Infrastructure took a policy decision to divide the work into five phases which will be undertaken by the residents.

The project is expected to be completed in 30 days.
