THE MINISTRY IS HAPPY TO CELEBRATE ANOTHER GROUND BREAKING MILESTONE IN TOURISM AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT.

Saint Lucia continues to make strides in tourism growth, surpassing our pre-pandemic 2019 benchmarks and experiencing a strong resurgence in 2024. With nine nominations in the 2025 World Travel Awards, including our first-ever nomination for the Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Destination, we are reinforcing our reputation as a premier travel destination.

As cruise tourism continues to flourish in the Caribbean, the Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries Culture and Information is ensuring the evolution of our product offering to be more competitive while also building linkages with the local community.

The OECS Regional Tourism Competitiveness Project which was financed through the WorldBank Group has seen the effective mobilization of five (5) civil works and a software development project activities. As part of the implementation of the OECS Regional Tourism Competitiveness Project, the Government of Saint Lucia, through the Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information identified the Gros islet Waterfront as a priority development area for Saint Lucia.

The Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information is pleased to share the achievements of the OECS Regional Tourism Competitiveness Project (ORTCP) as it relates to the completion of the Gros Islet Recreational Beach Park Project which includes the construction of an entertainment park to include vending, events and children’s recreational amenities. This development is aimed at enhancing and transforming the area to a pleasant and attractive scenic point for tourists as well as Saint Lucian residents to enjoy and more importantly, create opportunities for employment.

On this basis and to celebrate this milestone, the official Opening Ceremony of the Gros Islet Recreational Beach Park was held on Friday 15th August, 2025 from 10:00 am at the project site on Pigeon Island Beach along Jerome Montoute Drive and adjacent to the connecting bridge of Pigeon Island and the Gros Islet Town.
