SAINT LUCIAN YOUTH HOLD PROMISE, SHE SAID.

The Parliamentary Representative for Castries Central has expressed pride at being witness to the many accomplishments of Saint Lucian youth.

Speaking at the Independence Youth Rally on Feb. 22, the Hon. Minister Sarah Flood-Beaubrun stated that her optimistic outlook for the future of Saint Lucia related directly to the promise that she sees everyday within Saint Lucian youth.

“First of all I would like to say how encouraged I am and how hopeful I am for the future of Saint Lucia and our youth. I am hopeful because of the talent, the creativity and the industriousness they display. The purposefulness, the vision, the adventurous spirit, I see in many of our youth. In addition, our Saint Lucian youth remain trusting and youthful at heart. They have not given up on us as adults and leaders. Our future with them is bright as long as we continue to invest in them.”

The minister added that although taken aback by the genius of the performances on display at the Independence event, she still laments the fact that not all are present taking part.

“I want to say how proud I have been to see the display of the talent that has happened here on this stage but I cannot help but reflect on all of the talent that is not here. The talent that is sitting on the block in the communities in my constituency and around Saint Lucia. As a Government we are committed to finding that talent, nurturing that talent to ensure that there are many younger people here, many more caterpillars becoming butterflies, and so on our 40th anniversary we can really see talent on display in Saint Lucia.”
