Media Release: Micoud launches community carnival

THE COMMITTEE AIMS TO CONTINUE TO DELIVER A PROFESSIONAL SERIES OF HIGH QUALITY EVENTS.

The Micoud Carnival Committee launched its community carnival on June 3, under the theme “Annou Ale: Our Journey Continues”.

Committee Public Relations Officer, Mr. Malan Leonce, said it is the committee’s intention to stage a spectacular show.

“After three successful years, our hope is to continue to deliver a professional series of high quality events. Judging by the large number of people in attendance and the high level of enthusiasm portrayed by the patrons, performers, carnival bands, pageant contestants and committee members, the event was enjoyable. Again, we expect this year’s event to be even more spectacular, more colourful and more entertaining for all.”

The community carnival launch was held at the Micoud Multi-purpose Court. Patrons were able to view the costumes on display, get a preview of the band packages of three of the five adult carnival bands, and were introduced to the five pageant contestants. They were also treated with performances from local artists Melissa Tino, Tin Juice, General Bakes, and DeVyrus as well as national artists Ezra, Cooyah, Black Boy and Mess, Umpa, and others.
