Media Release: Futsal Tournament, Saturday

THE EVENT WILL BE HELD AT THE BEAUSEJOUR INDOOR FACILITY FROM NOON TO 9 P.M.

The Department of Public Service will host its annual Futsal Football Tournament in observance of Public Service Day, on Saturday, June 30, at the Beausejour Indoor Facility from midday to 9 p.m.

Eight teams have been confirmed for the upcoming tournament with ten persons per team and include: the Department of Public Service, Ministry of Health and Wellness, Department of Physical Planning, Customs and Excise Department, Department of Education, Fire Service Department, Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, Bordelais Correctional Facility.

Coordinator of the event, Shervon Mitchell explained that the tournament will observe all FIFA Futsal rules and regulations.

“We are excitedly looking forward to the tournament for which the various teams have been practicing.   We are inviting all public officers and the general public from across the island to come out and support the teams.  It will definitely be an exhilarating atmosphere,” Mitchel added.

Prizes will be awarded as follows: first place: $750.00; second place: $500.00; third place: $350.00.

The theme for Public Service Week 2018, is “Transforming Our Public Service, Building Excellence and Promoting Good Governance Through Recognition of Outstanding Service.”
