Media Release: Fishermen’s Feast this week




THE JUNE 29 OBSERVANCE WILL BE COMMEMORATED WITH A SERIES OF COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES.

As the 2018 Fishermen’s Feast approaches, the fisher’s cooperatives would like to announce the continuation of activities in recognition of the event.

 

A domino competition will take place at the grounds of the Department of Fisheries. The completion will be held on Sunday, June 24, from 5:30 p.m., and Tuesday, June 26, from 6 p.m. The finals for the domino competition will be held on June 27, from 6 p.m.

 

Friday, June 29 is Fishermen’s Feast, with a church service at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception at 8 a.m., followed by a procession to the Fisheries Complex. The official ceremony will be held at the Union Orchid Gardens, in Union, Castries.

 

On Sunday, July 8, the Fisherfolk Cricket Competition will take place at La Fargue, Choiseul.

Fishermen’s Feast promises to be a memorable event.
