Media Release: Advanced laparoscopic conference in Saint Lucia

THERE WILL BE LIVE SURGERY SESSIONS AT ST JUDE’S.

The Caribbean Society of Endoscopic Surgeons (CaSES), in association with the Saint Lucia Medical and Dental Association will host an international conference on minimally invasive surgery this weekend.

Minimally invasive surgery is the growing concept of doing surgery through smaller and smaller incisions, which of course is extremely advantageous to patients and doctors alike.

This year’s focus is on the Caribbean including the Dutch, French and Spanish speaking territories. Minimally invasive or keyhole surgery is very technology driven and a particular focus is required to make it affordable for our region. Training and safety is very important and this is one of CaSES areas of interest.

The conference will be held from Sep. 26 to 28. On Sep. 26 there will be live surgery sessions at St Jude where OECS surgeons will receive training from regional and international experts. The conference will continue at Bay Gardens Hotel where presentations will be made by both regional and international speakers.
