Monday, January 22, 2018 — Blue Growth & Risk Management through Earth Observation Workshop

WHAT
The workshop will use examples from Fisheries and Aquaculture developments, Maritime monitoring control and surveillance, Sargassum issues and opportunities, and Climate Change Resilience and Adaptation measures, to illustrate the opportunity and potential for Earth Observation to support development of maritime economies and adaption to risk and vulnerability from climate change, in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals.

These thematic focuses will be used to develop a series of participant-led recommendations for further capacity and capability development to support the deployment of earth observation as a management tool across the Caribbean, recognising the potential role of member states, organisations such as the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, international financing institutions, Space Agencies and local innovators.
