Day and night operations for urgent completion of Sandals to Choc Road Widening Project.

by Ministry of infrastructure, ports, energy and labour

The Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Energy informs the general public of the closure of the Northbound Lane between the Friendship Inn and the Choc Roundabouts to facilitate around the clock work for completion of the final layer of Asphalt on the Sandals to Choc Road Widening Project.

Therefore, the Southbound Dual Lanes are converted into two-way traffic, which means that one lane (outer lane) will accommodate southbound traffic while the other lane will accommodate northbound traffic.

These diversions will remain in effect until further notice. As such motorists are advised to proceed with caution and expect delays. Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes along the “Back Roads”, ie; Morne Du Don to Balata and La Panse to Carielle through to Union etc.

Weather permitting the Contractor, CO Williams is expected to complete the final layer of asphalt in the coming days, to allow road markings to be undertaken this week.

The Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Energy apologises for the unpredictable delays and thanks the public for their patience and understanding.
