Delicatessen Supervisor (Operations Division)
Main Responsibilities
- Scheduling department team members taking into consideration daily, weekly, monthly and annual trends. Will make recommendations to Store Manager for less or additional man hours whenever necessary.
- Monitors and enforces punctuality in scheduled shift working hours of all Deli Department associates and ensure their compliance with store policies
- Ensures that all department personnel are trained in the store’s method of performing department activities
- Orders and maintains inventory to ensure freshness, product quality and turnover to maximize sales and minimize out-of-stocks or overstocks
- Ensures that refrigerated cases and other displays are stocked and properly faced at all times in accordance with department standards
- Ensures that perishables merchandise is rotated in accordance with department policies and product code dates
- Handles damaged and spoiled products according to department procedures and assists in controlling the level of these goods
- Executes performance appraisals and coaching, supports and conducts training of new and existing employees
- Conveys recognition for tasks well done and training and/or disciplining where performance is below standard with reference to, but not exclusive to company policies. Communicate promptly with Store Manager on all performance issues and solutions
- Maintains the highest professional level of confidentiality in handling employee information
Requirements
- Associate Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts
- Proficient in the use of various PC applications
- Previous supermarket industry experience plus industry recognized qualifications, may be considered as equivalent to stated academic qualifications
