Taiwan ICT in Educational Development Project, SALCC collaborate

TAIWANESE EMBASSY SPONSORS SALCC TRAINING FOR EDUCATORS IN E-LEARNING.

The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College and the Taiwan ICDF–ICT in Educational Development Project are collaborating to provide training in online instruction for teachers in Saint Lucia and across the region. This is in recognition of the growing need to develop capacity in Technology Enabled Instruction among practitioners in the education system and as a response to emerging trends in digital education and online learning.

A cheque presentation will be held at the Morne Fortune Campus on Sep. 1, at 10 a.m.

The SALCC e-learning Summer Academy for Educators is aimed at helping practitioners respond to change and innovation in education, develop approaches to deal with issues around ICT integration and explore context relevant ICT tools. The programme targets educators at all levels of the education system – primary and secondary education, post-secondary education, vocational education, and workplace training.

More than 100 participants are currently enrolled in the summer programme which began on August 4 and runs till November. The course comprises of seven modules which includes practical components such as video production and animation to develop educational content. The course is being facilitated by lecturers of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College.
