Smokehouse Bar and Bistro, located in Cul de Sac, is seeking to employ an enthusiastic, energetic and flexible individual in the capacity of Waiter/Waitress.
Position Overview
The right Waiter/Waitress would be someone who has patience, the right attitude and drive to thrive in this role. A Waiter/Waitress’ responsibilities include greeting and serving customers, providing detailed information on menus, multi-tasking various front-of-the-house duties and collecting the bill. A customer should always enjoy their dining experience and it is the duty of the Waiter/Waitress to ensure a 5-star experience. Guests should walk away not only with their palate satisfied, but with a pleasant memory of their time with us.
The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: General Responsibilities: Prepare tables and cutlery Greet and escort customers to their tables Present the menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients) Inform customers about the day’s specials Offer menu recommendations upon request
Take accurate food and drink orders, using a POS ordering software, regular order pad, or by memorization Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff Serve food and drinks Up-sell additional products when appropriate Deliver checks and collect bill payments Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning Meet with the Head Cook to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties) Follow all relevant health department regulations. Provide excellent customer service to guests. Competencies/Skills:
1. At least one year prior experience working in a similar role 2. Math and English passes at CXC level 3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 4. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills 5. Should be able to work weekends and public holidays 6. Ability to multi-task 7. Good organizational and listening skills 8. Honesty and integrity 9. Team player 10.
