Job Title: Teller/Loan Admin. (Castries and Vieux-Fort locations)
Reports To: Operations Officer- St. Lucia Teachers’ Credit Co-operative Ltd.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The incumbent is responsible for providing courteous, professional and prompt service in a timely manner to all members of the Credit Union.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Receive cash/cheques/drafts etc. for deposit to members’ accounts, verify amounts and dates on cheques and post accordingly.2. Process withdrawals by verifying amount of withdrawals, pay out cash after verification of signatures and member balances.
3. Post bank standing orders according to deduction allocations.
4. Post transfers to update or clear loans in arrears.
5. Set up standing orders for loan payments and insurance premiums.
6. Reviews loan disbursement forms to ensure they have been authorized and cheques are accurately completed and authorized.
7. Monitor and pursue all delinquent accounts 5-35 days late.
8. Receive loan payments and ensure that payments match balances due. Post entries in database and issue receipts.
9. Ensure that custodial practices and cash security are maintained in accordance with guidelines as set out in the Operations Manual. No more than (1) infringement per annum.
10. Ensure that financial entries (debits and credits) are accurately entered. No more than (3) errors per annum.
11. Ensure that cash holdings are balanced and reconciled on a daily basis in accordance with guidelines set out in the Operations Manual. All outages and overages must be reported to the Accounting Office on the same day.
12. Assist new members in opening accounts and the issuance of passbooks.
13. Process Online banking applications, check for and process online request
14. Ensure that members’ passbooks are properly and accurately updated
15. Assist with the cross and up selling of the Credit Union’s products and services
16. Act as primary liaison with all member personnel, counterparties and staff regarding loan administration.
17. Encourage member share growth
18. Monitor share and SSSA accounts for adherence to share capital arrangements and report withdrawal requests to GM.
19. Verify loan close offs and prepare monthly reports for closures and major reductions.
20. Any other duties as assigned by the Accounting Officer, Assistant General Manager and General Manager PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
ENSURES: • Required reports are provided to Management, Loan Manager on a timely basis
• Assistance is provided to Loans Officers as needed EDUCATION AND JOB REQUIREMENTS
− An Associate Degree in Business, CAPE OR relevant qualification, OR a combination of education and experience necessary to
successfully perform the essential duties of the job of a Teller and Loans Admin.
− Must pursue a program for personal and professional development
− Must possess a high level of confidentiality and honesty
− Must be conversant with loans underwriting techniques, security/collateral documentation and collateral requirements as
specified in the By-Laws
− Must be familiar with the rules and regulations governing the Credit Union
− Must be computer literate (familiarity with an accounting software package will be an asset)
− Must be very bright, energetic, organized, detail-oriented and flexible
