- Assist the Ophthalmologist during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for eye assessments and explain testing processes.
- Conduct preliminary tests such as visual acuity, eye pressure measurement, and basic imaging (training provided if needed).
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient flow, and record-keeping.
- Maintain cleanliness, sterilization and readiness of examination rooms and equipment.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and operate optometric equipment as needed.
- Support with patient education and post-care instructions.
- Porter/Orderly: Assist patients who require help with mobility.
- Conduct Inventory checks and report low or required stock.
- Carry in and out goods for the Centre.
- Handle administrative tasks including updating electronic records, filing, and follow-ups.
- Ensure compliance with clinic protocols, safety standards, and confidentiality guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience in a medical or clinical environment (ophthalmology or optometry experience is an asset but not mandatory).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with medical software (training provided).
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn specialized ophthalmic procedures.
