BDO – Finance Manager
Our Client, operating a Boutique Hotel, is seeking to fill the post of Finance Manager. This post reports to the Hotel General Manager. The Finance Manager provides the Owners, General Manager and other management with accurate, timely and relevant financial data. Additionally he/she will be responsible for managing the audit function in the hotel and to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
Educational Level
- CA (Chartered Accountant) or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Graduate in Accounting
Experience
- 5 to 6 years’ demonstrated accounting experience, preferably in a hospitality or food and beverage environment and quality with a background that includes forecasting and budgeting.
Communication
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Information Technology Skill: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word), strong accounting software, experience and experience in PMS like Opera, Room master, Protel, Visual One, Delphi, Sun Finance, Oracle Finance, SAP, etc.
Summary of Duties
- Manage all phases of Accounts Payable, Receivable and department budget. Review and distribute wages and salaries. Trouble-shoot and resolve all billing-related disputes. Prepare regular reports and summaries of accounting activities. Represent the finance department at the department heads meetings. Review all ledger details, guest and deposit ledgers to validate proper payment and revenue posting, investigating any variances. Ensure adequate cash flow. Prepare financial statements and debtors’ listings. Approve travel agent commissions and payment. Prepare financial reports. Oversee and guide the procurement process. Work with the executive heads to prepare budgets and track profit/loss by business unit. Provide direction and training to hotel operational team in areas related to finance, etc. Effectively mange the accounting team. Recommend and maintain a system of policies and procedures that adequately control the department’s activities
