InterCaribbean Starts Sint Maarten-Tortola Service Early

TORTOLA, British Virgin Islands, Saturday February 10, 2018 – interCaribbean Airways yesterday began service between Sint Maarten and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, more than a month earlier than planned.

The service, which includes onward connections to Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Antigua had originally been scheduled to start on March 22.

But the Turks and Caicos-based airline said it moved up the start date to address the challenges of travel to and from Santo Domingo following recent air service interruptions.

As a result of the new flights, travelers in Santo Domingo and Sint Maarten can make immediate connections via the Tortola hub, with a short layover.

“interCaribbean is pleased to be able to quickly update our Sint Maarten start date to ensure the communities in Sint Maarten and in Santo Domingo have available air service options,” said Trevor Sadler, CEO of interCaribbean.

The airline has been serving the Dominican Republic for over 15 years, with a current schedule of 19 weekly flights.
