Isaac is no more.

The National Hurricane Center said Isaac had fallen apart in the Caribbean on Saturday morning and issued its last advisory on the system.

As of that last advisory, the remnants of Isaac were located about 260 miles south-southwest of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and were moving west at 16 mph.

There were a few gusts of 35 mph left in what was Isaac.

Isaac could continue to drop heavy rains on parts of the central and western Caribbean over the next few days, the hurricane center said.

So is Isaac over? For good?

The storm was downgraded to a tropical depression on Friday morning and then restrengthened to a tropical storm later that afternoon.

But the hurricane center seems to think Isaac is really done this time around.

A NOAA Hurricane Hunter aircraft took a look at Isaac earlier today and couldn’t find one well-defined center of circulation.

And none of the more reliable forecast models suggest Isaac could redevelop, the hurricane center said.

“The wave will likely continue westward across the Caribbean Sea over the next few days, producing gusty winds and occasional heavy rains over portions of Hispaniola and Jamaica,” forecasters said.

The National Hurricane Center has issued its last advisory on Isaac as of Saturday morning. (NHC)
