Massy Stores - Division Head - Business Sytems and IT
This position reports directly to the Managing Director
Main Responsibilities
  • Provides information processing, systems counseling and guidance to the organization
  • Plans and controls departmental staffing, development, facilities and organization to ensure they they are consistent with the business plan of the company
  • Plans and controls cost-effective and strategic hardware acquisitions
  • Directs the design, development, sourcing and maintenance of systems and software to meet organization’s information needs
  • Establishes, maintains and enforces Business Systems and IT policies, standards, practices and security measures to ensure effective and consistent information processing operations and to safeguard information resources
  • Develops and administers the Department’s expense budget, within budgetary guidelines to contribute to cost-effective operation of the company
  • Selects, develops and motivates qualified staff to effectively carry out department functions and provide for the continuity of managerial and specialized skills
  • Maintains knowledge of developments in the areas of systems and hardware and incorporates new developments into the future systems of the company
  • Develops programs and hardware systems along with staff to ensure cost-effective and current information system
  • Where necessary provides technical and other input in the formulation of Business Systems and IT related contracts
  • Ensures that all division related projects are appropriately resourced and executed within the assigned time-frame
  • Analyzes complex business needs presented by the user community and recommends technical solutions
  • Ensures that the division adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements, including annual audits, Occupational Health and Safety requirements
  • Maintains quality service standards in keeping with the requirements of the company’s Customer Service Management System program and other initiatives
  • Overseas the continued development and maintenance of and a high level of compliance with the organizations IT Business Continuity Plan
Requirements
  • A university degree in Management Information Systems, IT or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience at the Senior Management level
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Information Systems and/or Systems development
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of accounting will be an asset.
