Scope of Job
With the guidance of the Finance Manager, assists in preparing and reporting financial statements conforming to the principles of accounting and regulatory requirements. The individual would be required to Supervise/provide guidance to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Departments
Overview
- Assist in ensuring timeliness and accuracy of the financial statements
- Review financial data to ensure fairness and completeness of the data
- Prepare financial reports and assist in their evaluation
- Assist in maintaining internal control systems and adopting proper policies for financial reporting
- Conduct account reconciliations and analysis
- Prepare monthly journal entries as needed
- Review all monthly journal entries for accuracy and reasonableness
- Analyze monthly research of expense accounts; review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports
- Work with external auditors during financial audits
- Provide technical support system to the finance team
Qualifications and Experience Required
- A.C.C.A or CGA Qualified or (must be on final level of A.C.C.A or CGA), Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 2 years experience in a supervisory level position in Finance
- Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP would be an asset
- Specific understanding of all areas within the Finance function – Financial & Management Accounting, Taxation and Treasury, Statutory reporting and regulatory requirements
