Media Release: Availability of Public Health Services at the Other Locations of the Environmental Health Division

The Environmental Health Division remains committed to ensuring that essential public health services continue without interruption.

The public is informed that, notwithstanding the recent fire at the Environmental Health Division Office at Bois D’Orange, the Division continues to provide several important Public Health Services without interruptions at the other locations.

Members of the public requiring Environmental Health services are advised that all Environmental Health services remain available at the Soufriere and Vieux Fort Offices. These services include, but not limited to:

  • Applications for licences for all licensable premises, including:
    • Water trucks and water conveyances
    • Food establishments
    • Water bottling plants
    • Alternative accommodation facilities such as guesthouses, villas, and similar establishments
  • Health cards and health certificates
  • Submission of developmental plans for environmental health review
  • Lodging of public health complaints
  • Applications for mass crowd events

These services can be accessed at the following offices and can be contacted via telephone:

  • Soufrière Office – 459-7329
  • Vieux Fort Office – 468-6958

Port Health Services at the various Ports of Entry, and Vector Control Services island-wide will continue to be provided.

Please note that, in the coming days, the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Nutrition will provide additional information on the temporary relocation of the northern offices to ensure continuity of other services in the northern part of the island.
